How to Use

After cleansing with Bioactive Cleanser, apply Bioactive Solution to the face as directed, avoiding the eye area. Follow with your treatment products and moisturizer.

Bioactive Solution is designed to work within the Biophora corrective system and may be used alongside Bioactive Gel when appropriate for your skin.

Introduce gradually if you are new to exfoliating acids, and adjust frequency according to tolerance and the other active products in your routine.

Use sunscreen daily while using exfoliating acids.

Despite the word “toner,” Bioactive Solution is an active treatment step. It contains both glycolic and salicylic acids at an acidic pH, so we count it when looking at the total amount of exfoliation in your routine.

Within the Biophora system, Bioactive Solution is often intentionally paired with other corrective products such as Bioactive Cleanser and Bioactive Gel. That doesn't mean every skin needs every acid at maximum frequency. We adjust the routine according to your skin, concerns and tolerance.

If your skin is irritated, sensitized or struggling with its barrier, adding more exfoliation isn't the answer. That's when we would generally step back from correction and focus on restoring the skin first.

A leave-on corrective toner formulated with 3% glycolic acid and 0.75% salicylic acid to help refine texture, clear congestion and improve the appearance of oily, blemish-prone and uneven skin.

Glycolic acid exfoliates accumulated surface cells to promote a smoother, brighter-looking complexion, while oil-soluble salicylic acid helps clear buildup within congested pores. Kojic acid and sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable vitamin C derivative, provide additional antioxidant and brightening support for uneven tone and post-blemish discolouration.

With a pH of 3.13, Bioactive Solution is an active exfoliating step rather than simply a hydrating or refreshing toner.
