Use morning and evening.

Apply a small amount to the face and neck and gently massage using circular motions. Add water to emulsify, then rinse thoroughly or remove with a damp, soft facecloth.

Follow with your treatment serum and moisturizer.

For heavier makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, cleanse twice if needed.

Your face doesn't need to feel squeaky clean. Tightness after cleansing isn't proof that your cleanser worked - it can be a sign you've removed more of the skin's protective lipids than necessary. Clean skin should still feel comfortable.

This is one of my favourite “start here” cleansers. If your routine has become complicated, your barrier is irritated, or you're simply not sure what cleanser you need, a gentle cleanser like this is rarely the part of the routine that needs to be aggressive.

Yes, oily and acne-prone skin can use a gentle cleanser. More oil doesn't automatically mean you need a stronger cleanser. Acne treatments often provide plenty of activity elsewhere in the routine, so keeping the cleansing step simple can help avoid unnecessary irritation.
